Orders, deliveries and the Corona Virus
Corona Virus - How does this affect Orders & Deliveries
CCTV & Security Services come under the "Essential Services Section"
It is essential that people stay at home to minimise the risk of catching or spreading the Corona Virus – STAY AT HOME
We understand that many people now have time on their hands or are anxious to secure their homes with a CCTV Security System. Now is a great time to install a home CCTV system, another item to complete on your To-do list.
You can still place your orders with the confidence that they will be delivered as normal, although there may be an extra day added in more rural areas. We haven’t increased the price on any products and continue to lower prices when we can.
Important Information for our PSA Trade Customers:
The Private Security Authority of Ireland has advised us:
"Electronic Security Installers (Access Control, CCTV and Intruder
Alarm) installing or repairing access control systems, CCTV systems
and intruder alarms at premises providing essential services or
premises closed to the public. Installer may also respond to
emergency call outs. All other installation and regular
maintenance/service work should cease. Retail premises should be
closed.
Locksmiths installing or repairing locks at premises providing
essential services or premises closed to the public. Locksmiths may
also respond to emergency call outs. All other installation and
regular maintenance/service work should cease. Retail premises should
be closed. If emergency services need to be provided at the licence
holders premises this should be done by appointment. The premises
should remain closed to the public.
"
Basically, this means that no new installations by CCTV Installers can take place in homes that are occupied, nor in commercial premises, unless it is to safeguard an un-occupied premises or for emergency maintenance. We cannot allow any customers to call in to us, but we will continue to fulfil online orders and send them out by courier as per normal. This has always been how we conduct 90% of our business anyway.
Customers can continue to install CCTV security systems on their own homes. Please be carful and take as many precautions as possible. Together we can beat this nastiness.
STAY HOME - STAY SAFE
** 3rd April 2020 - Important Update from the Private Security Authority of Ireland**
I would like to thank all those who have taken note of the guidance and acted accordingly. However, not all have followed the guidance. It is with disappointment and annoyance that I have learned that a number of installers continue with business as usual.
The Government list of essential service providers provides clear guidance on what is and isn’t permissible. To avoid any misunderstanding, the PSA has provided guidance for the security industry on what is required of them at this time. Let it be clear, the Electronic Security Services fall within the parameters of security services contained within the essential services list and not within any other category.
Installations should only take place at premises providing essential
services or premises closed to the public. Installations at domestic
premises should not be undertaken at this time.
Maintenance, servicing and repairs should only take place at premises
providing essential services or premises closed to the public.
Maintenance, servicing and repairs of domestic systems should only be
undertaken for emergency purposes.
Retail premises should be shut to the public. There are no exceptions.
Innovative ways to try and avoid this guidance are frowned upon.
The reasons for this guidance is to assist the public health measures being taken at this time. Those acting against the guidance are putting the welfare and safety of the public at risk. The PSA would have to consider the suitability of any business acting against the guidance to hold a PSA licence. We will publish the details of any licences we revoke and the reasons for the revocation.
** End of Update**
